FINAL WALK
Congratulations to our new Ms African American United Queen –
Barbara Erby! What a year is ahead of you! ☺ I will always remember my year as the inaugural Mrs African American
United as one of the standout memories of my adult life. And, it was an honor to be an AAU Ambassador this past year. I
thank our fantastic Director, Sophia Minor, for the opportunity to be part of AAU royalty again this year. You will always
have my support and I will help in any way I can to promote the mission of AAU and the credibility of online pageants.
There is so much I could say to you about representing this pageant. I had an awesome
experience wearing the crown. As you wear this title proudly, there will be so many doors of opportunity for you to walk through
and shine you light into the lives of others. I encourage you to take advantage of it and don’t wait to be asked. There
are organizations and events who would love to have someone like you to participate in or represent them if you would approach
them. I encourage you to have fun and expand your horizons during your reign so that you continue to evolve as women and create
fond memories in the album of your heart.
I feel blessed to have met the people that I have during both reigns as an AAU Queen.
My title gave me entrees into community circles that had been previously closed to me and allowed me to contribute my talents
and abilities to organizations and events that I am passionate about like the Revlon Run, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the
UNCF Walk for Education and many others. I rode in my very first parade ever as Mrs. African American United. My participation
in that event led to much of what I am involved in now.
I wish you all the best and can’t wait to hear about all your activities. Be
well. And, may you always have an angel by your side ☺
